We believe all children in year 6 should have the opportunity to go on school journey. School journey is at the start of the academic year and it plays a vital role in encouraging team work, self-confidence, self-esteem and motivation. School journey is an experience of a lifetime that children never forget!
Why have we chosen to go to PGL?
PGL ensures the highest quality of provision, their centres are run by enthusiastic, fully trained staff. At all times during the week you child will be under supervision by Winton Staff and PGL staff, children are always with a member of staff. Osmington Bay site is one of the best, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
What do they do during the week?
During the week children try a variety of activities to build on their team work and self-esteem, for example abseiling, archery, fencing, giant swing, problem solving, quad biking. Instructors lead all activities to ensure the highest standards in safety.
Pupils complete up to 5 activities a day and in the evening sleep in single sex rooms of 4. At meal times children have a choice of meal and Halal food is available. There is also a prayer room on site.
From Adam (PGL Group Leader), Group taken in 2012:
To the children
I loved being your groupie and you were my best school I had the whole season. Each one of you has a unique personality and no doubt it will go a long way in later life.
Letter to pupils
To the adults
You guys by far are the best set of teachers I have ever met and the relationship you have with the children is outstanding. Every child in life should have a teacher like you, the support you give to each child is outstanding.
